THE PUNISHER

Sportier in its stance, more intent in its purpose, and upgraded to the extreme. The KTM 990 DUKE R brings added flare to the middleweight Naked market with maximum fight that will get you further, faster. It sets a new standard with an increased power output, and sharper ergonomics, coupled with upgraded WP APEX suspension and never-before-seen electronic functionality. This motorcycle is designed, developed and produced in Austria.

Features may include:

PUNISH YOUR RIVALS
  • Adjustability

From the fully-adjustable WP APEX front suspension - including an upgraded, stiffer 48 mm fork - and the rear with the WP APEX shock, to the adjustable handlebars and levers, the choice is yours when it comes to dialing in the ideal sport-focused set-up. Commitment is the final ingredient to power ahead of the pack.

FINER-TUNED
  • Engine

Remaining at 947 cc, the R version's parallel twin LC8c motor produces additional horsepower and torque thanks to improved mapping to unleash its power from within, creating an adrenaline-pumping experience that comes courtesy of being the most compact twin in class. Based upon the KTM 990 DUKE platform already in the line-up, the results speak for themselves. Put simply, the best just got even better.

FORM MEETS FUNCTION
  • Ergonomics

Tougher than any of its predecessors, the R brings with it a bolder stance. A 15 mm higher seat height and with that same amount of extra ground clearance, it's designed to feel as compact as it can be, while accomodating a wide range of riders, and the result is the most lightweight, agile, performance-focused mid-class Naked.

HITTING THE APEX
  • Frame

Torsional stiffness and rider feel were prioritized when developing the KTM 990 DUKE's tubular frame, which also forms the foundations of the R version. It's built with a sport-orientated personality, with both agility and stability combining to make for an immersive riding experience. An updated linkage mounting point has been introduced, without affecting the bike's value of stiffness. It also packs an aluminum die-cast subframe, which integrates side air intakes for form and function.
